In the know…May 2023!

Hello EMSA Members,

EMSA Executive Group met and discussed the current format of the 2023 Outdoor Community competition.

After a lengthy debate, EMSA Executive Group decided to uphold the EMSA Bord of Directors’ decision and keep the current competition format for this season.

At the end of the season every EMSA Zone office will distribute a survey to their members and provide that feedback to the EMSA Board of Directors.

The current format of the Community competition was proposed by EMSA Zones based on original feedback receive from parents requesting:

  • Shorter travel time,
  • Scheduling certainty,
  • Continuous schedule (No more scheduling breaks during the very short outdoor season)

The proposal was voted on by the 60+ EMSA communities and clubs’ representative during the January 27, 2023 Planning Meeting.

The decision made by the Planning Meeting was further discussed by the EMSA Board at the end of March and the Board members voted in favor of the current format.

We are a very diverse organization and, at any point in time ideas and approaches to soccer differ between our members.

We appreciate everyone’s feedback and we’ll always be open to respectful exchange of ideas.

At the end of the day, the competition can only have one format and that will be decided by the majority of our members.

If you have questions or if you would like to get further involved in the EMSA decision-making process, please contact your community’s Zone Office.

Thank you for participating and supporting the beautiful game.”
